Itinerary

Day 1Similan Islands

Your trip starts with a pickup at your downtown hotel. Then count on our comfortable vehicle with licensed driver who will help you with your luggage and head to visit Jame’ Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque. As the largest mosque in the country of Brunei, Jamie’s Mosque is definitely a sight not to be missed. The mosque was built by the 29th Sultan, and at a glance, the 29 giant domes made of gold glisten in the sunlight. The interior is even more exquisitely decorated, with sumptuous crystal chandeliers, ornate carpets, and a large prayer room that reveals a touch of majesty and grandeur. Whether it is day or night, the place is always so striking, the solemnity of royalty and the quietness of religion all rolled into one.

Then head to Royal Regalia Museum, was built in 1992 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Sultan’s accession to the throne. The exhibition features traditional Imperial chariots, crowns, photos of royal events, etc. used by the current Sultan when he ascended the throne. The exhibits are all items used by His Majesty the Sultan and members of the royal family during important celebrations. The most striking of the memorials is the dragon chu, which was used by the current Sultan on his accession to the throne, all made of gold, and so imposing.

After that, you’ll explore Brunei Darussalam Maritime Museum. On the first floor there is an introduction to the archaeological discoveries of Brunei and some of the antiquities (pottery, etc.), as well as an introduction to Brunei’s past trade with other places. Up to the second floor, there are various models of ships that have visited Brunei before.

Then walk to Malay Technology Museum where You can learn about the architectural details of stilt houses from the late 19th to mid-20th centuries and delve into some of Brunei’s most famous handicrafts, their precious brocade weaving art, as well as gold and silver cast iron, brass casting and more.

Later, take a scenic boat tour around the world’s largest Malay water village named Kampong Ayer and visit the local homes where you can observe the daily life of a typical villager in a stilt house on the Brunei River.

At last, head to Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque. Hailed as one of the most spectacular mosques in the Asia-Pacific region, it is also a major tourist destination and is considered by Bruneians as a major national icon. The largest feature of the mosque is the main vault, plated in solid gold, which stands 52 meters high and can be seen anywhere in the city of Seri Begawan. The main minaret combines Renaissance and Italian architectural styles into a unique style that is rare in Islamic architecture in the world. A modern elevator inside the minaret reaches the top of the tower, offering a panoramic view of the city.

After the tour, escort you back to your hotel.
