After breakfast, your guide will meet you in the hotel lobby and take you to Shaxi Old Town, the last remaining market town on the Ancient Tea Horse Road.
Visit a private museum about Tea Horse Road trade caravans. you will see a lot of caravan paraphernalia that once traveled the Tea Horse Road, such as bells, saddles, horsewhips, and some other things you might have never seen before.
Enjoy a short hike (2.5 miles) from Sideng Street. Cross the Yujin Bridge and walk along the Heihui River to the north where you can enjoy the peaceful countryside. If you stop at Beilong village, you will be surprised that there is a beautiful bookstore. The building used to be a factory of processing crops.
When you get to the Duanjiaden village, you can find a well-maintained traditional stage with a history of more than 150 years.

Head to the holy mountain of the Naxi people — Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Take the cable car up and look out over the stunning and varied natural beauty with spruces, meadows, pines, and clouds.
You will have a chance to stroll around Blue Moon Valley and enjoy a clean blue pool.
In the afternoon, visit a Village of the Naxi people. It is a great chance to learn more about Naxi people and their history and culture.

On day 1 of your TLG trek, you will hike 15 km (10 miles), which takes approximately 5 hours.
In the morning, drive from Lijiang to Qiaotou Town, the entrance to Tiger Leaping Gorge. Hike about 2 hours up the steep 28 Bends and enjoy the remarkable view there.
After another 2–3 hours on the trail, you will arrive at Halfway Guesthouse. Admire spectacular views of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and the narrow Jinsha River Valley.

On day 2 of your trek, get up early and hike down to Tina’s Guesthouse. It will take around 2 hours. Don’t miss the impressive waterfall and canyons on the way.
If you still have energy, you can walk down the steep cliff to reach the bank of the Jinsha River and the middle of Tiger Leaping Gorge. The round trip takes about 2 hours.
Meet your driver and continue your journey to Shangri-La.

In the morning, explore the largest Tibetan Buddhist lamasery in Yunnan — Songzanlin Lamasery, which is also known as the ‘Little Potala Palace. Then follow your guide into a lama’s dormitory. It is a great chance to find out more about their devout lifestyle and religion.
Finally, experience a Tibetan ceremony of blessing, and see how Tibetans pray on the hill behind Songzanlin Monastery.
Pay a visit to Shangri-La Old Town in the afternoon. Slow down your steps and feel the holy religious atmosphere.
Don’t miss the Tibetan dancing in the central square in the evening.
