Day 1Xining Arrival

Today, your flight will land in Xining. Upon arrival, you will be met by your guide and brought to your hotel for check-in.

Day 2Xining - Qinghai Lake - Xining

Enjoy the magnificent scenery of Qinghai Lake in the morning, which is the largest inland saltwater lake in China. It is no exaggeration to say that Qinghai Lake is a miracle of the gods! The lake is surrounded by four continuous mountains and extends into the broad grassland at the foot of these. The lake is also unique for the amazing views created by the sunlight falling on it with the beautiful blue sky is visible on the horizon. Another important aspect for tourists to explore is the Tibetan cultural aspects of the lake. In Tibetan people’s belief, walking around the lake is to worship the holy spirit.

In the afternoon, we will drive back to Xining.

Day 3Xining - Tongren

Attractions: Wutun Monastery, Longwu Monastery

Today we will drive all the way to Tongren. Upon arrival, we will visit the Wutun Monastery, which encompasses a collection of many fine Rebkong artworks. The murals, embroideries, paintings, and sculptures are lively, colorful and exquisite. Next, we will travel to the Longwu Monastery, one of the major monasteries in Amdo Tibet. “Longwu” in Tibetan means the “place of farming”. First funded as a Sakya Monastery at the beginning of the 14th Century, Longwu became a Gelugpa Monastery later in the 17th century.

Day 4Tongren - Langmusi

Today’s tour will begin at the Langmu Temple, another beautiful temple that belongs to Tibetan Buddhism. In one of the main pagodas of the temple lies the human body of the fifth Living Buddha. In spite of having been there for the longest time, it is the best preserved one, as after more than two hundred years the skin of the Living Buddha is still elastic. We will be spending the night in Langmusi.

Day 5Langmusi - Zhagana

This beautiful day that will remain in your memory for a long time will begin with the sunrise in Langmusi. Then we will drive all the way to or next stop, Zhagana, where you will have the opportunity to enjoy some leisurely time in a quiet and peaceful village. Zhagana is located in the Diebu County of Gannan, known for its green mountains, clear water, flying springs and waterfalls, holy lakes, slope peaks, and grand passes. There are four villages in Zhagana that are all full of forests, minerals, beautiful waters, grasslands, rare animals, and plants. Zhagana is a rare treasure house of green resources in Gansu Province, with beautiful mountains and waters, outstanding people, gorgeous scenery, and wide forests.

Day 6Zhagana - Xiahe

Attractions: Sangke Grasslands, Labrang Monastery

After saying goodbye to this beautiful and quiet village, we will drive you to Xiahe. On the way, you can enjoy a walking tour of the Sangke Grasslands, which is a part of the Dajiutan grasslands in Sangke township. Surrounded by mountains and an open flat Alpine grassland in the middle, Sangke grasslands are an incomparable tourist attraction. The grassland area has abundant water and grass, flocks of cattle and sheep graze under the blue sky, and the white clouds against the blue make for a dreamlike natural pastoral scenery.

In the afternoon, We will arrange for an English Speaking Lama to guide you through the Labrang monastery, the monastery containing the greatest number of monks outside of Tibet. You will stay at the Thangka Sunning Terrace, which is a great place to view the monastery and its surrounding scenery. Inside the monastery, apart from the magnificent Buddha Stupas and wall paintings, the prayer wheels are also true must-sees. The whole monastery is surrounded by prayer wheels, and you can walk along the corridor, rotate the wheels and pray for chasing away your troubles. 

Day 7Xiahe - Lanzhou - Departure

Attractions: Linxia Ba Fang Shi San Xiang

This morning, we will drive back to Lanzhou. On the way, we will visit Linxia Ba Fang Shi San Xiang, an ancient street with Hezhou ethnic customs. While exhibiting Muslim traditions and ways of life, it also combines Hui brick carvings, Han wood carvings, and Tibetan colorful paintings. Upon our arrival in Lanzhou, you will be transferred to the airport to catch your flight back home.
