The rest of the day is free for you to explore this fantastic city.  Walking around the urban area of Guiyang, see Qianling Mountain and Jiaxiu Pavilion – two characteristic attractions of Guiyang. Go to the streets and alleys to find food in Guiyang.  In the evening, you should not miss the street food in Erqi Rd and Minsheng Rd for the night market.

After breakfast, you will visit the Seven Little Arches Scenic Park (Xiao Qi Kong). You will find both surprise and pleasure. The Seven Small Arches Scenic Park is a narrow valley in the natural forest. Renowned for its beauty, it offers visitors a breathtaking view of the beautiful green water lakes, the magnificent waterfalls that fall from the karst cliff and the idyllic forests that are perfect postcards. There are caves, forests, lakes, waterfalls, stones and water. We explore the forest, we walk in the valley with 68 layers of waterfalls.

From here, move on to Libo Scenic Area (40min drive) for further exploration onboard a ferry boat across the lake, an experience that provides an altogether different perspective of this stunning scenic area.

After breakfast, we drove to Kaili, the capital of the Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture of southeast Guizhou. First, en-route visit the stunning Gaoyao Rice Terrace fields (seasonal sightseeing). Gaoyao terrace is located in Gaoyao village. The terraced fields are stacked on top of each other and the whole mountain is covered. Then, head for the nearby Danzhai Village to experience the “Batik Art”. Danzhai County is a major cradle of the Miao ethnic group’s batik craft. You will drive to Shiqiao to experience ancient papermaking. Shiqiao Miao village is located in Danzhai County of Guizhou Province and has a history of more than 2,000 years of papermaking since the middle of the Tang Dynasty. Then you will visit Qingman Miao Village, a village known for its unique costumes and the traditional way of dying cotton for clothing.

Langde Miao Village is reputed as “the Hometown of Chinese Folk Song and Dance Art”. Upon arrival at the village, you will be warmly treated to a traditional welcome ceremony by the beautiful ladies and girls dressed in traditional Miao costumes (long skirts). They will set twelve tables with“block-the-way”wine and you can taste the wine to feel their hospitality.

The most interesting part is to go fishing with Miao group’s bamboo baskets in the local rice paddy fields and get to know their farming system and daily life better (seasonal activity: going fishing needs extra payment and is usually available in summer during July ~ September). After that, the local hostess will show you how to cook Miao’s famous cuisine – Fish in Sour Soup. Enjoy lunch at the local house. In the afternoon, we drove 3 hours to Rongjiang.

After breakfast, you will start an exciting exploration for a visit to Biasha Miao Village, an 84 km drive from Rongjiang to Congjiang. Biasha Miao Village is called “the Last Gunslinger Village in China”. This is the only place in China where residents are still legally allowed to own and carry guns.

This afternoon, I drove to Zhanli Dong Village to listen to the mysterious legend with “one boy and one girl”tradition.

Next, head to Huanggang Dong Village, a village considered as one of the most beautiful and traditional Dong villages in Guizhou. You can explore their local life and enjoy the unique architecture in the village. There are five drum towers standing in different directions and you can see the elders chatting in the tower or weaving their clothes.

After breakfast, you will explore the largest Dong village in Guizhou – Zhaoxing Dong Village. It is divided into 5 natural small villages, living in five different areas – which are called“Tuan”locally. Start your exploration from the village gate and get atop of the viewing platform to enjoy the panorama, where you can also clearly appreciate the five drum towers standing beautifully in the village. Afterwards, pay a visit to the Zhaoxing Dong Culture Museum to have a better understanding about Dong people and its culture in all aspects.

After that, you can choose to hike from Zhaoxing Dong Village to Tang’an Dong Village, which takes about 2 hours or you can take the sightseeing bus there. If by hiking, you’ll pass by the intoxicating rice paddies and primitive Dong villages. Tang’an Dong Village is perched on hillside terraces and it is called the“living museum of Dong minority”with authentic feelings and beautiful landscape around.

Today, we drive back to Guiyang. Stroll around in the urban area of Guiyang, go to the streets and alleys to find Guiyang food, and listen to the stories of Guiyang indigenous martyrs coming to old Guiyang.

Then transfer to the airport for the departure flight.
