Day 1Xi’an Arrival

Attractions: Grand Tang All Day Hall, Hanyang Mausoleum

Hotel: Overnight in Xi’an

Welcome to Xi’an, the capital of Henan Province. You will start your visit with the Hanyang Mausoleum before heading to the city. This mausoleum is the largest underground museum in China, housing the joint tomb of Emperor Jingdi and his empress. Peruse the exhibition hall to learn about the civilization and culture of Jingdi’s day, and take a walk through the site’s beautifully landscaped gardens.

Arriving in Xi’an, go to Grand Tang All Day Hall (South Square of Big Wild Goose Pagoda) to appreciate the unique night view. It’s busier in the evening when many activities with Tang elements are held by local amateurs. 

At end of the visit, check into the local hotel.

Day 2Xi’an

Attractions: Terra-Cotta Warriors, Ancient City Wall, Muslim Quarter

Today you will spend a full day in Xian! 

The first site will be Terracotta Warriors and Horses. Known as “the Eighth Wonders of the World”, the museum shows a surprisingly high level in sculpture, which is listed in the most significant discoveries of the 20th century. You can spend 2.5-3 hours there. 

After that, drive to Xian city and continue your visit to the exciting Ancient City Wall. It is the most completely preserved and the largest city wall in China, which was built for military defense in the ancient time. Since it is cycling the city, visitors can ride a bike around the city wall(optional). 

Next, have a leisure visit to the Muslim Quarter, which is packed with various stalls of local authentic food and snacks. Entertain your taste bud with iconic Shaanxi food such as Yangrou Paomo (Pieces of Flat-bread Bun Soaked in Mutton Soup), and purchase some antiques, artworks, and Terracotta Warrior imitations, as souvenirs.

Day 3Xi'an - Mt. Hua - Luoyang

Today, you will take a day trip to Huashan Mountain, at an elevation of 2,160m (7,086 ft), famous for a natural vista of steep and narrow paths, precipitous crags, and a high mountain range. 

The most dangerous plank walk along the cliff attracts thrill-seekers from all over the world to challenge themselves.

Most visitors will take a traditional but efficient walking-ascending & cable-car-descending from the north peak for this mountain climbing. 

Through this route, visitors can experience not only its dangers, but also the main meaningful attractions. (Cable car and shuttle bus tickets to and from Westlink are included)

Finally, your guide and driver will escort you to Huashan Railway Station for the 1 hour high-speed train ride to Luoyang. When you arrive at Luoyang Railway Station, a local driver will pick you up and take you to your local hotel.

Day 4Luoyang

Attractions: Shaolin Temple & Kungfu Show, Pagoda Forest, White Horse Temple

After breakfast, head to visit the Shaolin Temple, which is well-known as the birthplace of Chinese Zen Buddhism and Shaolin Martial Art. 

You cannot wait for watching the Kongfu Show performance. The Shaolin Martial arts are an important part of the relics. 

Then, continue to visit the Pagoda Forest in the Shaolin Temple.

In the afternoon, pay a visit to White Horse Temple, established by Emperor Mingdi in the year 68AD. It is the first Buddhist temple in China, enjoying the reputation of being the No.1 Ancient Temple in China.

After the sightseeing, drive back to your hotel.  

Day 5Luoyang

Attractions: Longmen Grottoes, Luoyang Museum, Lijingmen Street

Today, we will visit the famous Longmen Grottoes, a treasure house of ancient stone-carving art with more than 100,000 stone statues here. It is one of the three most valuable Buddhist Cave and rack carvings in China.

After lunch, continue your visit to Luoyang Museum, which is a historical museum of China, housing 1,700 cultural and historical relics in 5 showrooms.

Finish today’s tour at Lijingmen Street. It is not like the modern and beautiful food streets of other cities you have visited, but with well-preserved old buildings, and natural & authentic features. In addition to local delicacies, here you can get a glimpse of the long history and culture of Luoyang.

Day 6Luoyang Departure

Today is free for you to relax until your tour guide and driver escort you to catch your flight/train to next destination. Your memorable Xi’an culture tour ends.
