Today you will go on a trip to the Dong ethnic group. Dong Village is surrounded by mountains and rivers, with well-preserved dwellings and charming natural landscapes. In the village, you will see the iconic building – Wind and Rain Bridge, which combines the styles of bridges, corridors and pavilions, reflecting the unique Dong customs and wisdom of the Dong people. Built of wood and brick, the bridge provided a shelter for those working in the fields, but has since become a date place for young people and a popular attraction for tourists.

Another typical building in Dong Village is the Drum Tower. It is always located in the center of the village as a political and cultural center. Every time the village head beat drums on the top floor, the villagers would stop what they were doing and gather around the tower.

Then you will be transferred back to Guilin and rest at your hotel.

In the morning, take a cruise down the Li River to Yangshuo. The scenery along the way is picturesque: the mountains and mountains along the river are stacked, the clear water reflects, and the fields dot the shore.

Upon arrival in Yangshuo, your guide will help you to stay at the 4-star Kaiyuan Hotel for two nights. After a short rest, continue to visit West Street, a traditional southern Chinese street but with a unique international flavor due to the large number of foreign residents here.

Then we will take you along the country road to enjoy the beautiful natural scenery of Yangshuo. On the way, you will stop at villagers’ homes to learn more about the life of local farmers.

This morning, you will take a traditional bamboo raft along the Yulong River, the longest tributary of the Li River in Yangshuo. Don’t forget to soak up the stunning countryside scenery as you walk through the ups and downs along the river.

After 50 minutes of bamboo rafting, it is a short drive to the ancient town of Fuli. This small town by the Li River has a history of more than 1,000 years. There you will see old houses and buildings where people still keep their traditional customs. It is also the hometown of Chinese painting fans. There is a fan street with shops and stalls selling painting fans and hanging paintings. If interested, you can also try to draw one yourself. Finally, we will drive back to Yangshuo.

Return to Guilin after breakfast. On the way, you will visit Daxu Ancient Town, one of the four ancient market towns in Guangxi. Most of the ancient dwellings on the roadside are two-story buildings with blue bricks and blue tiles in the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) eras. Adjacent to the Li River in the west, it is the best location to enjoy the scenery of the Li River and the Snail Hill opposite.

Then you will go to Reed Flute Cave, one of the most famous caves in China. You’ll see stalagmites and stalactites in various shapes with interesting names, such as Dragon Tower, Crystal Palace and Primeval Forest.

The last stop is Elephant Trunk Hill. Considered a symbol of the city, the mountain is a naturally formed karst rock in the shape of a giant elephant. Taking pictures in front of the mountain is definitely one thing you will never forget.
