After breakfast, drive to Tropical Botanical Garden which is about 80km from Jinghong City. Boasting the richest plant diversity in China, the garden is the place you can see over 3000 species of tropical plants and a colorful botanical landscape.

Then, transfer to visit Dai Minority Park in Ganlanba (Olives Dam). It is the soul of Xishuangbanna where you will be introduced to some best-preserved Dai villages, traditional Buddhist temples, simple bamboo houses, enjoyable entertainment activities, exotic local dress styles, and traditional customs.Transfer back to your hotel after the visit.

After breakfast, your guide and driver will meet you at the hotel lobby and transfer you the Wangtianshu Scenic Area. This is a dreamy wild wonderland where you can not only enjoy tropical rainforest with towering Shorea Chinensis (Sky Trees), but also experience a breathtaking walk on the “air corridor” that hung on the high canopies over one hundred meters tall. Enjoy releasing your mind with the rich ecological wonders and fresh air.

Then, move to the vibrant Gaozhuang Night Market – the largest night market in Xishuangbanna to savor fresh tropical fruits, taste yummy Dai snacks and shop local souvenirs.Back to your hotel after today’s tour.

Start today with a visit to Wild Elephant Valley – the only sanctuary of wild elephants in China. With a network of rivers and dense rainforest, this area is one of the few natural habitats of Asian elephants. More than wild elephants, it is also a paradise for other protected animals such as bison, green peacocks, and macaques.

After saying goodbye to animals and jungles, follow your guide to the Jinuo Ethnic Village. This is home to the Jinuo Ethnic Group – the 56th group in China. On a visit to the mountain village, you will get to explore unique tropical rainforest sights and learn the essential Jinuo culture.

Then, drive to Manting Park, the landmark of Xishuangbanna and the carrier of Dai culture. In this 1300-year old former royal garden of the Dai kingdom, you will find well-preserved ancient kassod trees and best examples of Dai architectures and temples, learn the culture of the Dai royal family and folk customs.

Visit Zongfosi Temple (General Buddhist Temple) which is just behind the Manting Park. It is the leading and oldest temple in Xishuangbanna which will feast your eyes with over 25 states of Buddhas and many grand Dai Buddhist architectures.Transfer back to your hotel after the day tour.

Today you will get more close to minority life by visiting a local market in Menghai County. The market is a frequent haunt of local minorities, and mainly offers some local produce, household goods and cheap clothes. It is an enjoyment to stroll around the market and meet many minorities wearing colorful sarongs and turbans.

After the market, set off for the Nannuo Tea Mountain which is well-known for its long history of tea cultivation. Here a culturally and humanly amazing trip is waiting for you. Hiking along the trail through forests of green bamboo and other trees, you will encounter some of the oldest and largest tea trees (many between 200 – 500 years old) which grow together with some wild plants in the forest and produce some of the best pu’er tea in Yunnan. The oldest of the tea trees is the over 800-year-old “King of Tea Trees”.

People inhabited on the Nannuo Mountain are mainly Hani ethnic people. Most of the Hani people are engaged in agriculture, and their tea culture is particularly developed. You will step into some Hani Villages to explore local residences, customs, costumes, listen to their pleasant tunes of tea picking, and experience their profound tea culture.  Transfer back to your hotel in Jinghong downtown after the day trip.
