Overview:

Guangdong Province is located at the southernmost tip of mainland China, bordering Hong Kong and Macau. It has many unique features that make it different from other regions of China, including dialect, folklore, cuisine, history and culture.
This 6-day Guangdong tour will take you to the most familiar places in and around Guangzhou (Guangzhou – Foshan – Jiangmen – Shenzhen). You will travel to the “Land of Lingnan Culture” to see the true art of Lingnan architecture and folk lion dances, and one day to the land of the overseas Chinese to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kaiping Watchtowers and Villages. Day 1Guangzhou Arrival

Hotel: Overnight in Guangzhou

Upon arrival in Guangzhou, you can take your own cab or airport shuttle to the hotel we have booked for you. The rest of the day is yours to explore the city on your own. Guangzhou is a cosmopolitan city with easy access to all destinations.

Day 2Guangzhou

Attractions: Yuexiu Park. Zhenhai Tower, Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, Sha Mian Island, Flower City Square

Hotel: Overnight in Guangzhou

After breakfast, you will be picked up by your local guide and driver from your hotel. A full day sightseeing begin at Yuexiu Park, the largest city park in Guangzhou. Then, continue to enjoy the five-storey high red ancient building, Zhenhai Tower, which has been converted into the Guangzhou Museum. If you wish, you can also climb the tower for a bird’s eye view of the panoramic view of Guangzhou City. Afterwards, you can visit the nearby Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, which was built to commemorate the great revolutionary Sun Yat-sen.
In the afternoon, visit the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, which is considered to be the largest, most beautifully decorated and best preserved traditional clan ancestral hall in Guangdong Province. Afterwards, take an approximately 10-minute ride to see the distinctive Sha Mian Island, which is home to more than 150 well-preserved old buildings in the European style from the 19th century colonial period.
After exploring, head to the city’s central axis in Zhujiang New Town and view Guangzhou’s modern cityscape from the Flower City Square. Take a leisurely stroll among the gleaming skyscrapers and quirky modern buildings to experience the rapid development of this metropolis. Most importantly, admire the slender silhouette of the iconic Guangzhou Tower across the Pearl River.
After the tour, return to your hotel with an escorted tour.

 

 

 

Day 3Guangzhou-Foshan

Attractions: Lingnan Tiandi, Lingnan historical buildings, Guangdong Cantonese Opera Museum, Shiwan Doll Street

After breakfast, you will be picked up by your local guide and driver at your hotel in downtown Guangzhou and driven about 1 hour to the city of Foshan, famous for its martial arts, ceramics and lion dances.
With a wealth of artifacts and information, you will get a good understanding of Ip Man (Yip Man) and Wong Fei Hung (Wong Fei Hung), two of the true masters of martial arts that have influenced Chinese Kung Fu in modern times! In addition, you will enjoy many wonderful typical Lingnan style decorations, vivid sculptures and carvings about historical stories and traditional operas.
Continue to the nearby Lingnan Tiandi, once a wealthy area of Foshan, now the best place to enjoy a wide variety of fine Lingnan historical buildings and seek the traditional culture of Foshan as a thousand-year merchant capital. If you are interested, you can make a short visit to the nearby Guangdong Cantonese Opera Museum.
Then, take about 15 minutes by car to visit the Shiwan Nanfeng Ancient Kiln. This place tells the story of Foshan Shiwan’s lofty status as the “Ceramic Capital of Southern China”. Also, take a stroll outside to the Shiwan Doll Street.

Day 4Foshan-Guangzhou

This morning, you will take a bus from Foshan to Kaiping Watchtower and Village in Jiangmen City. Listed as a World Heritage Site in 2007, Kaiping Watchtower and Village is rich in value for understanding the culture and history of the Chinese in Guangdong from the 16th-19th centuries. Our guide will take you to enjoy Liyuan and Zili Village, two of the most popular and distinctive Diaolou villages.

First visit Li Garden, which is regarded as the top outstanding private garden built by overseas Chinese.In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the nearby Zili Village, which is about a 10-minute drive. The village is one of the four UNESCO-designated Kaiping villages.

After the tour, return to Guangzhou by car for about 3 hours. You can have a great rest at this 3 hours.

Day 5Guangzhou-Shenzhen

Attractions: Jinxiu Zhonghua and Chinese Folk Culture Village, Window of the World

Hotel: Overnight in Shenzhen

After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel and take you to Window of the World, a theme park located in the west of Shenzhen, after lunch, visit Jinxiu Zhonghua and Chinese Folk Culture Village. Here you can see a miniature version of various Chinese architectural features, after the tour, the guide will introduce some nearby restaurant, you can choose one as you like.

This afternoon, you will climb the 600m tall skyscraper, Ping An Financial Center, to see the modern face of Shenzhen. Afterwards, transfer to the Shenzhen Museum to get a better understanding of how this immigrant city has transformed from a fishing village to a first-tier metropolis in China in 40 years.

Day 6Shenzhen-Deparure

At the end of the tour, your trip to Shenzhen will come to an end. Near check-in time our tour guide will take you to the airport and you will be ready to go home.
