Wild Elephant Valley
Located in Jinghong, Yunnan Province, Wild Elephant Valley is a place frequented by wild Asian elephants, hence the name. A footpath as long as 4,000m winds its way amid tropical forests inside, where roaming along, one may get an intimate feel of the rain forest. Rare tropical plants dot either side of the pathway. One may even spot tracks left behind by wild elephants.
Keno Cottage
The Jinuo Mountain Village is located in Bapo Village, Jinuo Township, east of Jinghong City. It has been inhabited by the Jinuo people for generations. Not only will you enjoy the beautiful scenery of Jinuo Mountain, you will also experience the rich Jinuo culture. Come for a taste of the local barbecue and see the young men and women dressed in the Jinuo costumes in the central square of the village, singing and dancing!

Dai Minority Park
Xishuangbanna Dai Minority Park is located in the Southeast of Jinghong City and consists of five well-preserved natural villages, namely Manjiang, Man Chunman, Manting, Manzuo and Manga. Each village is filled with classic Burmese-style stupas and traditional family bamboo houses that give a true sense of the rich local family culture. There is a waterworks fountain at the center of the park, where a miniature Songkran festival is held each day to the delight of locals and guests alike.
Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences
The Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is located in Yilun Town, Mengla County, Xishuangbanna. The park is divided into two parts: the eastern area and the western area. The West District is the main attraction. It includes more than 20 specialized botanic gardens. The “Exotic Flower Garden” is the most popular among tourists. Eastern District is a large area of old-growth tropical rain forest. Most areas are paved with viewing trails, suitable for travelers who enjoy hiking.

In the afternoon, visit legendary Manting Park, Xishuangbanna’s most famous landmark and the former royal garden of the Dai kingdom.
As legend says, the Dai Princess once visited the park and her soul attracted much by its beautiful scenery, hence Manting Park is also called Chunhuan Park by Dai locals, which means “Garden of the Soul”.
In this complex with a history of 1,300 years, you will be able to relive the splendor and pageantry of the past in every Buddhist statue, towering spire, vacant monastery and beautifully designed lake. And you will find the best examples of Dai Buddhist architecture in the park – the Jingzhen Octagonal Pavilion and Manfeilong White Tower.
As you walk further to the back gate of Manting Park, awe-inspiring golden monasteries of Zongfosi Temple will leap to your eyes one after one. Zongfosi Temple isn’t your usual Buddhist temple, indeed, it was once an exclusive temple of Dai Kings in history. And it has long been the vital heart of Xishuangbanna Buddhist worship, ranking higher than all other temples in Xishuangbanna. The temple worships more than 25 states of Buddhas, including a remarkable 2.5-meter-high golden statue of Sakyamuni Buddha. More than 80 monks now study here. As you approach those mystical monasteries, you will hear tranquil sounds of their chanting.
