The first stop is to explore the Jinsha Relics. Walking through the relic hall with the excavation site under your feet and appreciate the rare 3,000-year-old cultural relics of gold, bronze, jade, and stone.

Enjoy an authentic Sichuan Hotpot lunch before driving to the city landmark: “I Am Here” Panda Sculpture. Have a cup of tea at People’s Park like a local and experience the laid-back lifestyle. Share your lovely experience with Chengdu by writing and sending a postcard at Panda Post.

For a mouthwatering end to the day, go on a food hunt at Jinli Old Street. Try some famous snacks, such as bean jelly in chili sauce, sweet potato noodles, and Sichuan-style wontons.

Your hotel is not far from Jinli and you may choose to explore the old street further on your own or return to the hotel with your guide.

Make an early start at 8am to reach Bifengxia Panda Base before 10am, when pandas are at their most energetic. Bifengxia translates as ‘Green Peak Valley’. It has dense forest, numerous waterfalls, and breathtaking scenery. Take a walk there and enjoy the natural environment of these adorable fluffballs.

From Bifengxia, drive on the longest national highway (G318) to Luding through the stunning 13-km-long New ErlangshanTunnel to see tumultuous Dadu River.

Continue to Moxi Town, and take a late afternoon walk on the ancient streets and relax. As the gateway to the Hailougou Glacier National Park, the town is dotted with local workshops, homestay hostels, restaurants, and cozy bars. A small Catholic church was built there in Chinese architectural style and Chairman Mao was said to have stayed there during the civil war.

Get to the soul of this tour: the “song of ice and fire”! Explore Hailuogou Glacier and Forest Park and relax in a hot spring.

Hailuogou Glacier and Forest Park consist of four camps, with altitudes rising from 1,940 m (6,360 ft) to 3,600 m (11,800 ft). We will first take the sightseeing bus from the Tourist Center to Ganheba (around 18 km or 11 mi) to take the cable car to Camp 4. Admire the big frozen waterfall and cloud sea, and look out on huge and holy Gongga Mountain.

Take the cable car down to Ganheba and hike around 2.5 km (1.5 mi) to Camp 3 and another 2 km to Chengmendong. Enjoy the alpine forest along the way and touch the awesome glacier tongue.

As Camp 2 is closed for renovation, in the early afternoon we will take the sightseeing bus back to Camp 1. Your hotel is close by. The rest of the day is for you to fully enjoy the hot spring and warm yourself up.

After breakfast, we’ll drive you back to Chengdu. On the way, visit Luding Bridge. We will drop you off at Chengdu downtown. Depart Chengdu by your own arrangements.
