This 5-day tour allows you to discover all the highlights of Guiyang and Xingyi with a wonderful exploration of Huangguoshu Waterfall in Anshun City to catch its essences of culture and nature.

You will be met and welcomed by our tour guide at Guiyang Airport. Guizhou is nicknamed “the kingdom of the mountains” because 87% of its land is composed of mountains and plateaus. Then we will drive 1.5 hours to Tianlong Tunbao, to visit the Old Han people. The ancestors of these villagers migrated from Jiangxi Province to Guizhou Province in the Ming Dynasty. Women here are still dressed in traditional Ming dynasty costumes, and houses remain faithful to the Ming architectural styles. We will observe a local Ground Opera Performance, famous for the figurative masks of the performers. The opera in Tianlong dates back to 1382 during the Ming Dynasty. It is said to be one of the oldest operas in the world, which is still enduring.

Today we will first drive 40 minutes to visit Huangguoshu Waterfall. Take a 2-3 hour walk to Tianxingqiao, an area full of different land formations of karst, including waterfalls and ministone forest. Then we will experience the Huangguoshu waterfall, which is 223 feet high and 276 feet wide, the biggest in Asia. It is especially beautiful because the rainbow arches over the falls. You will walk along a well-cut cliff path where you can see the water curtain from behind. In the late afternoon, we will drive 2.5 hours to Xingyi, the capital city of the Southwest of Guizhou.

Today, we will first visit Malinghe Canyon, which was nicknamed “The most beautiful scar on earth”. Waterfalls fall from the hill tops along the valley and there are various karst caves behind the falls or on the cliffs. The Malinghe River is a tributary of the Nanpanjiang River and runs through the gorges. Wanfengling(Forest of Ten Thousand Peaks) is a beautiful area with panoramic views of the mountains. This is a large area, so you usually have to take the electric shuttle bus to get to the various observation points.Another optional experience is to bike around the Wanfenglin area. This 1-2 hour ’ biking will help you to get a closer look into the life of local inhabitants.

Drive 3 hours to Ziyun county, Getu, place of karst caves and underground rivers. Here, we will also witness how local “spider-man” climb up a 100-meter high cliff with their bare hands. In the late afternoon, we will drive to Guiyang, explore the old town of Guiyang on foot, and enjoy a local beer brewer’s pale ale in a small hidden alley.

After breakfast, we will drive 45 minutes to Qingyan, an ancient city founded in 1378. Qingyan itself was historically a key military fortress and trade hub. The magnificent city walls divide Qingyan into inner and outer towns with four giant gates facing different directions. Walking in the town, you will discover various monasteries, temples, courtyards and palaces, with stone-paved streets and lanes intertwined with each other. Then we drive an hour to Guiyang airport, take your flight to your next destination, and the journey ends.
