Zhangjiajie National Forest Park
This is the first highlight of Zhangjiajie, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site, with a spectacular sandstone peak forest landform composed of more than 3,000 stone pillars of different shapes and sizes, known as the “enlarged bonsai, reduced bazaar”.
Bailong Elevator
The world’s highest outdoor elevator (326 meters) helps visitors reach the summit in 1 meter 28 seconds.
Yuanjiajie
Yuanjiajie, the main setting for the film Avatar, is home to hundreds of original “floating Avatar Mountains”. The main one is called “Hallelujah Mountain” and the view is really impressive, like outer space. No wonder it was named the most famous highlight area in the park.
Tianzi Mountain
Tianzi means “Heavenly Prince”. In fact, he is a real figure who led the local ethnic groups to fight against the government army during the Ming Dynasty 500 years ago… The Tianzi region is a very old battlefield. Most of the attractions there are combined with the historical stories and legends of this venerable man. In addition to these, at the top of Tianzi Mountain, we can visually experience the most spectacular sandstone peak forest landscape in the park, characterized by its sharp and slender shape. It is a highlight of Zhangjiajie Scenic area.
Golden Whip Stream
Golden Whip Stream is regarded as the 1 of the most beautiful Streams in China. It’s 6 km long with a well-paved flat walkway at the bottom of a canyon. A tour from a lower perspective will give you a different view of Avatar from the top. And it’s actually closer to nature: You will find hundreds of different-shaped sandstone peaks erecting by the crystal-clear stream, attached with plenty of interesting legends and stories given from locals. The other exciting part is, we may see a lot of cute monkeys on the way.
Xihai Stone Forest
West Sea Stone Forest is one of the most stunning view you could get at Yunqing Rock sightseeing platform on the top of Tianzi Mountain.

Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Glass Bridge
This attraction is located in the rural area of Zhangjiajie, where you can experience walking across the world’s longest (430 meters) and first natural canyon with a glass bridge (300 meters high). It’s an amazing building that shows the human imagination. After visiting the bridge, if time permits, you can also take a 1.5-hour walk to the beautiful canyon floor – with creeks along the way, past a robber’s cave, and then by boat to the exit).
Yellow Dragon Cave
I have to tell you that this is the second largest cave in Asia (3 floors and 13 halls), known as the “Cave Champion”, where various cave formations can be found. The trip takes up only 2/5 of it, but you have the opportunity to see beautiful views from hundreds of stalagmites and stalactites by foot and boat. Only here can you see the beautiful inner world of Zhangjiajie.
Baofeng Lake
This pretty lake lies high on top of sandstone mountains. At this spot, we could enjoy the view of Avatar Mountains on water, while, hearing lovely Tujia folk songs from young girls and boys in wooden boat and knowing interesting stories of how the lake is formed. Not hard physically but very relaxing.

Tianmen Mountain, in the image of “New Legend Of Zhangjiajie”. It’s the highest spot (1500m) in Zhangjiajie, where you can walk on super-exciting cliff-path and glass walkway and see the whole city and beautiful countryside with bird’s view. The landscape is completely different from the Zhangjiajie National Park, but on the same level. Both are world-class sights, so it’s a must-see in the city, and what could be more incredible? Despite its small size, this mountain holds four Guinness World Records. Any one of them would impress any type of person. It’s the most amazing experience you’ve ever had.
