When you arrive in Pingyao, the best-preserved ancient town in China and listed in UNESCO World Heritage Sites, your private guide and diver will meet you at Pingyao Railway Station. Then your driver will take you to your hotel. Your guide will also help you check in to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to rest well, regain your energy and prepare for the journey ahead! You can also move around the hotel and explore the beautiful surroundings.

In the morning, your guide will pick you up at your hotel. Your Pingyao Ancient City full day tour starts from Pingyao Ancient City Wall, which is one of the buildings with the most obvious historical imprint of Pingyao’s ancient city. As you climb up the city wall and experience it step by step, you will surely appreciate the historical imprint it has left over the centuries. The 6,000-meter city wall, countless century-old green bricks and vaguely cracked walls have not affected its charm in the least.
Then you will visit the next attraction Rishengchang Former Bank, which tells you the original bank system in the past in China. The Old photos and relics there help you acknowledge China’s banking history.
After that, take a stroll on the traditional Ming and Qing Street. Walk along the street, you can admire the architecture of Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and Qing Dynasty (1616-1912) on both sides. There are all kinds of small shops on the two sides of this street in rows, selling Pingyao special local products, special snacks, and souvenirs.
Later, visit the City God Temple of Pingyao, which is one of the best-preserved city god temples in China. You can walk around and admire the magnificent woodcarvings, stone sculptures and mural paintings in it which reflect incredible craftsmanship.
Afterwards, drive back to your hotel.

After breakfast, board on our comfortable and air-conditional car and head to Zhangbi Ancient Castle (around 1 hour). The Castle is an amazing feat of architecture and engineering. It is surrounded by ravines in three sides and faces a mountain in one side. You will see a series of military defense network above the ground and the incredible tunnels underneath which had a history of over 1380 years.
Later, continue your trip to Wang’s Family Compound, very impressive in size, being the collective residences of all descendants and extended family of Governor Wang, who aced the Chinese Imperial exams and became a very important person. Here you will get to see ancient Chinese architecture at its best-preserved condition. The newer portion has better architecture with lots of beautiful carvings, statues and great for pictures.
After that, your private guide and driver will escort you to the airport or the railway Station to catch your flight or train.
