Overview:

Spend less time organizing and more time enjoying yourself on this private 3-day tour of Beijing, which provides a comprehensive introduction to China’s capital. As well as visiting Beijing highlights such as the Summer Palace (Yiheyuan), Temple of Heaven (Tian tan), and the Forbidden City (Imperial Palace), you’ll take a day trip to the Great Wall at Mutianyu and the Ming Tombs (Ming Shisan Ling). Upgrade to include a Peking duck dinner and tickets to a Kungfu or acrobatic show. Accommodation is not included.

Day 1Beijing

Attractions: Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Jingshan Park, Hutong Tour, Temple of Heaven, Red Theatre Beijing Kung Fu Show

Tiananmen Square (Tiananmen Guangchang)

In the morning, your tour guide and private car with driver will meet you at your hotel lobby. The first place you will visit the Tiananmen Square (Tiananmen Guangchang), which is the biggest city center square in the world, where you can see The Great Hall of People (National Congress Hall), and it is also known as the “White House” in China. The National Museum is on the east side. In the center of the square, you will see Chairman Mao’s Mausoleum there.

Forbidden City-The Palace Museum

Walk to the Forbidden City and spend a couple hours to see the highlights inside of this huge imperial palace also known as the “Forbidden City”, the largest and best-preserved ancient imperial palaces group with 500 years history. The palace was built between 1406 and 1420, but was burnt down, rebuilt, sacked and renovated countless times, so most of the architecture you can see today dates from the 1700’s and onwards.

Jingshan Park (Jingshan Gongyuan)

Continue to the Jingshan Hill where you can overlook the entire the Forbidden City. You can also see the whole Beijing city center from here if the weather is nice.

Hutong Tour

Afterwards, you will visit the Hutong, the old neighborhood. Your lunch will be arranged at a local authentic food restaurant near by the Hutong. Hutong has over than 700 years history. A lot of local people still live in this area from generations to generations. Get a ride on Rickshaw to visit this area.

Temple of Heaven

In the afternoon, you will visit Temple of Heaven (Tian tan) which is the place for past emperors to worship the God of Heaven.

Red Theatre Beijing Kung Fu Show

If you upgraded, you will enjoy the famous Peking Duck Dinner and fantastic Red Theater Kungfu Show or Acrobatic show at night.

Day 2Beijing

Mutianyu Great Wall

Begin your day with a visit to Great Wall at Mutianyu, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New7Wonders of the World.

Ming Tombs (Ming Shisan Ling)

Your lunch will be served at the local Chinese restaurant near by the Great Wall. In the afternoon,you’ll visit the Ming Tombs (Ming Shisan Ling). The 13 Ming dynasty emperors are all buried in this area. Visit the only one excavated to the public tomb. On the way back to the hotel, you also will pass by the 2008 Olympic Stadiums: Birdnest and Watercube. Then, your driver and tour guide will send you back to the hotel.

Day 3Beijing Departure

Summer Palace (Yiheyuan)

Take your private car to Summer Palace (Yiheyuan). There are 3000 rooms, with pavilions, bridges, island, corridors and temples in this huge imperial garden.

Lama Temple (Yonghegong)

The second place you will visit is the biggest Tibet Lama Temple in Beijing, and you will see the biggest Buddha Statue made by single wood there. People also called this place “Mini Forbidden City” since the architecture style is similar to the Forbidden City but with much smaller size.

798 Art Zone

After your morning tour, you will go to famous Dumpling Restaurant to enjoy your lunch meal. Then, visit 798 Art Zone, the modern art zone in Beijing with many modern art exhibitions. Afterwards, you’re transferred back to your hotel.
