Ciqikou (Porcelain Port)
Meet your guide at the hotel lobby in downtown Chongqing to begin your tour. First, you will visit Ciqikou Ancient Town to get a feel of old Chongqing. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was famous for producing porcelain. Today, you can visit tea bars, artist studios and embroidery studios to see some of the local arts and crafts. You’ll also learn about unique folk operas.
People’s Auditorium
Then visit the Chongqing People’s Auditorium; It was built between 1951 and 1954. It is not only one of the major landmarks of Chongqing, but also has an axisymmetric layout, consisting of four buildings: the main auditorium, the east wing, the south wing and the north wing. Covering a total area of 25,000 square meters, it showcases a striking contrast between different styles of traditional Chinese palace architecture.
Hongya Cave
Finally, you will visit Hongya Dong, where you’ll be able to see some of the sculptures in the traditional Bayu architectural style, and do some shopping as well. This is the perfect place to get souvenirs for yourself or friends and family from home. Here you will have some free time to walk around before being transferred back to your hotel or anyplace you want to go in Chongqing city center.
