As the cradle of ice culture, Harbin is known both at home and abroad for its ice festivals and ski resorts. Due to the long period of early colonization by the Russians, examples of Russian architectural styles abound in the city of Harbin.

Day 1Harbin Arrival

When you arrive in Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang Province, which is wildly known as the “Ice City” in China. Your private guide and diver will meet you at the arrival hall of airport / railway station. Then your driver will take you to your hotel. Your guide will also help you check in to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to rest well, regain your energy and prepare for the journey ahead! You can also stroll around the hotel and explore the beautiful surroundings.

Day 2Harbin

Attractions: St. Sophia Church; Sun Island Scenic Resort; Siberian Tiger Park; Ice and Snow World

Today, you will spend a whole day exploring Harbin’s iconic sights. Visit St. Sophia Church firstly, which has been the landmark of Harbin by its grand and splendid appearance and exotic atmosphere since it was finished. You can admire the magnificent structure with red bricks and circular domes from its exterior part. Walking into the church, you can learn the history and the research of modern history of Harbin.

Then, head to the Sun Island Scenic Resort the main site of the Ice and Snow Festival, located on the Songhua River north of Harbin. This is a popular recreational area with a Russian-style town, small lakes, picturesque gardens, and a variety of interesting galleries and museums. This snow-covered land is also the perfect place to see the magical ice sculptures during winter.

Then, visit the nearby Siberian Tiger Park. Housed on nearly 400 acres of land, the Harbin Siberian Tiger Park is the largest natural park for wild Siberian tigers in the world. You’ll be inside a bus that would tour you around the park and give you close encounters with many amazing animals. After that, there’s a walking area to tour around the park where you can also do some feeding if you want.

After dinner, you will head to the marvelous Ice and Snow World which is the world’s biggest snow and ice festival and features plenty of spectacular installations and activities. Here you can admire the magical and extraordinary ice lanterns and sculptures with colorful lights at night. Remember to put on enough layers of proper clothes and warm shoes to keep you away from the freeze.

Day 3Harbin - Departure

Today, you’ll first pay a visit to Heilongjiang Provincial Museum. Most of the exhibits in the museum are valuable artifacts and historic pieces of art found in the Heilongjiang region. It is an important base for studying the history of Heilongjiang.

Then, head to the Central Street, the most exotic place in Harbin. The street was built during the Russian occupation at the beginning of the 20th century so you can find the architecture here is quite unlike the rest of China. A good place for you to shop, eat and wander.

Continue to visit Stalin Park. There are Russian-style flowers and plants and a series of statues along the park. Due to its close proximity to the south bank of the Songhua River, visitors can enjoy close views of the river, making it an ideal location and natural swimming hole for locals and tourists alike. You can watch winter swimming performances, and also take part in the local ice activities.

After the tour, your driver will escort you to the airport or train station to catch your flight or train to next destination.
